Do I have to run with a group?
No, in fact most of our clients are single runners. Budget something like Euro40 for a two hour trail run in the hills.
Where should I stay?
Mallorca is a varied island but not a large island – simply put you can stay wherever you like! The capital Palma in the south to Alcudia in the north is a 30 mile 40 minute drive on the new double lane MA-13. See our Links tab for a few ideas.
What else can I do in Alaro?
Alaro is a small cosmopolitan village and the start point for many of our tours. After a tour you can relax with a massage or stretch out with a session of yoga/pilates. We have a practising physio in the village to help with any niggling aches and pains.
Can you tell me again how much a tour costs?
A starting point is Euro30 per person per tour. If the tour is a small one, or you would like to run solo, we play around with the price. Just send us an email (info@runmallorca.com) and let us know what you need.
What is the best time of year for a running holiday in Mallorca?
We run all year round, but the heat of the summer months alters the timing and type of excursion. Our busiest times of the year are March and April so please contact us early if you are planning a visit during these months. As the UK settles into the dead of winter, December and January in Mallorca greets the mountain runner with almond trees bursting into blossom, oranges ripening in the sun and many local village fiestas. October tends to be the wettest month of the year, but this rainfall is often concentrated in a couple of whopping storms.
I’d love to come but what can my non-running partner do while I’m having the time of my life in the hills?
Don’t worry, Mallorca easily caters for the following non-running pastimes (in no particular order)….hiking, biking, golf, tennis, shopping, football (RCD Mallorca play in La Liga with Barcelona and Real Madrid), swimming, sailing, surfing, wine tasting and short course Spanish lessons. See our Mallorca Other Activities page in Contacts & Links.
I'm a triathlete - should I consider Mallorca for a training base?
Without doubt, yes. With year round international standard swimming facilities and as much road biking as you can take, it is no wonder that we are receiving more and more enquiries from triathletes, especially those that wish to mix hill running into their training programme.
Will I run with other runners of higher/lower ability?
No. Once you book a tour, that time/day is closed for further bookings. You decide who is in your group.
